Introducing Dan Wallace, Commercial Trader and part-time footballer

Most of us at Classic Collection Holidays are well-travelled experts who are passionate about providing luxury holidays. And in order to keep the prices affordable for you, we’re constantly in touch with our hotelier partners to get the best deals. Most of this liaison is carried out by our Commercial team and to help you gain some insight into one of the brains behind the operation, we’d like you to meet Commercial Trader, Dan Wallace.

Background:

Dan joined the business in 2008 and has enjoyed being part of Classic’s growing success story. Wanting the opportunity to progress within the travel industry, the appeal of working in a specialist independent company with a growing reputation and increasing product portfolio seemed ideal to Dan. His qualifications in Travel & Tourism and years of experience working abroad as a Rep, has enabled him to lend knowledge and passion to his work initially as a key member of the reservations team and now as an energetic Commercial Trader.

Passport stamps:

A passion for travel needs to be fuelled and Dan has visited many top Classic destinations including; Bermuda, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Madeira, Croatia, Venice, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Costa del Sol, Egypt and Halkidiki. Dan’s favourite destination is Halkidiki. Why? ‘It’s a destination I was lucky enough to work in and it offers a great mix of traditional Greek culture and lots of fun tourist hot spots. As well as the chance to play football at Sani's Chelsea Football Academy’ With so many exceptional hotels and destinations in Classic’s brochures, we asked Dan where he would like to visit in the future and he chose Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort & Corallium, Gran Canaria which is an exceptional hotel with fantastic facilities in beautiful surroundings – top choice Dan!

Life away from the office:

When Dan’s not securing top hotel deals or liaising with hoteliers for room upgrades and special requests, he enjoys playing football for a local Sunday league, watching television, especially anything by Ricky Gervais, listening to Meat Loaf and playing video games. He’d really like to one day trek up Kilimanjaro! Dan Wallace’s essential pool-side recommendation (aside from sun cream) ‘Awkward Situations for Men by Danny Wallace.
